1954 - The school Lunch Law was established

 

From Chapter 2: "The purpose of School Lunch Law"

1. To educate and provide the correct information about daily meals and food customs for one's daily life

2 .To enrich school life

3. To provide a guideline for a practical food system, daily nourishment and nutrition facts to promote healthy food

4. To give information on the Production, Delivery and Consumption of food material

Since the founding of this law, the School Lunch System has been a compulsory part of the Japanese education system.

 

Founder Chiyo Nigaki introduced Curry Roux for mass servings (100 people per 1 brick) to a leading nutritionist for Kobe City Government Kyoko Mita. Since then Kobe city and neighboring cities in Hyogo Prefecture have worked in coordination with Nigaki Co., Ltd to supply food materials.

This was the beginning of the supply and distribution system for mass meals. Nigaki Co., Ltd. gradually grew to also supply hospitals, factories, companies, public offices and facilities.

Since this time in 1953, Japanese economy has grown a lot. With the general growth in the economy our particular field of mass meal service and food supplying, including hotel and restaurant business, also grew rapidly. As this industry developed, various public and private organizations were formed to aid in the networking in the food business.

After the establishment of these organizations, these networks started to expand and evolve into many new areas to meet the change in society. These groups try to focus-on food that matches society's nutritional needs and tastes.

In the year of 1998, we got the license of Cosmetic Importer. We made a contract with Mr. Larry Plesent at Vermont Soapworks to sell Vermont Soap products, which are 100% non-toxic, chemical free products. Nigaki Co., Ltd. is the sole licensed agent in Japan.

At last, with the development of the internet and with the global age of high tech and IT, today's society, health and people's food choices have been changing. We want to supply products that are natural and environmentally friendly, products that promote a healthy life and a natural lifestyle.
